Tasting Notes

Tar-soaked and swaggering, this column-distilled, heavy style rum erupts from the glass with waves of demerara sugar and scorched mango, pursued by papaya and charred pineapple. This is followed by  strangely seductive, almost transgressive waves of bicycle inner tube, softened by honeycomb and smouldering caramel. The palate crashes in heavy and unapologetic, with thick rubber, and a riot of barbecued tropical fruits. A bold, defiant spirit that reminds us exactly why the now extinct Caroni Distillery remains one of the most sought-after names in rum.
