Tasting Notes
Burnished amber in colour, bringing to mind autumnal leaves, this whisky greets the nose with elements reminiscent of aged Cognac - polished oak, a gentle mustiness, and a poised elegance. The Muscat cask influence shines through with fragrant grape must, a floral lift, and a whisper of rosewater. On the palate, vibrant grapes and stewed red fruits blend with a honeyed warmth and subtle herbal undertones. Rich yet balanced, the finish leaves a lingering impression of juicy orange segments, creamy milk chocolate, and a satisfying wave of Muscat sweetness.
Distillery Information
Glen Moray Distillery, formerly a brewery, was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, its soft and fruity character is often attributed to the relatively high humidity in the warehouses, a result of its proximity to the River Lossie.
