Tasting Notes

The initial aroma is a fragrant medley of ripe raspberries, juicy redcurrants, and crisp green apples, accented by the floral lift of orange blossom. The Muscat cask influence reveals itself in the heady sweetness of sun-drenched grapes and delicate rosewater, adding a perfumed, almost exotic nuance. The palate is rich and velvety, weaving together golden sultanas and red bramble fruits with a drizzle of caramel and a gentle sprinkling of cinnamon. As the flavours unfold, honeyed almonds and toasted oak emerge, carried by a deep, lingering wave of red berries. A layered and rewarding dram, with the Muscat cask lending both brightness and aromatic depth.

Distillery Information

Glen Moray Distillery, formerly a brewery, was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, its soft and fruity character is often attributed to the relatively high humidity in the warehouses, a result of its proximity to the River Lossie.
