Tasting Notes

The nose is rich and inviting, opening with the indulgent sweetness of raspberry ripple cake, layered with ripe Medjool dates and a whisper of rose petal. The Muscat cask influence brings a floral, almost perfumed lift, enhancing the fruit-forward character. Beneath this, vanilla custard and caramelised sugar evoke crème brûlée, while polished oak and a touch of cinnamon add depth. The palate is velvety and well-rounded, where juicy raspberries and golden sultanas meld with buttery sponge cake and caramelised nuts. The finish is long and satisfying, with red berry compôte, toasted almonds, and a final flourish of creamy vanilla and brûléed sugar. Decadent, harmonious, and oh-so moreish.

Distillery Information

Glen Moray Distillery, formerly a brewery, was converted in 1897. Situated to the west of Elgin, its soft and fruity character is often attributed to the relatively high humidity in the warehouses, a result of its proximity to the River Lossie.
