Tasting Notes

A richly textured Teaninich, where indulgent fruit and spice intertwine with the influence of Pineau des Charentes. The nose opens with warm stewed apple, its soft sweetness complemented by honeyed sultanas and a dusting of brown sugar. A hint of cracked black pepper adds depth, cutting through the richness with a gentle warmth. The palate is a balance of velvety red fruits and lively spice, where juicy raspberries and strawberries meet the darker warmth of spiced oak. The finish lingers with the interplay of sun-ripened fruit, peppery heat, and a final whisper of sweet fortified wine.

Distillery Information

Located in the northeast Highlands, Teaninich was founded in 1817. The whisky produced here is primarily destined for use in some of Scotland’s most popular blends. Teaninich is notable for being one of the few distilleries to use a mash filter instead of a traditional mash tun, a method more commonly associated with brewing.
