Tasting Notes
The nose opens with fragrant notes of stewed apples, ripe raspberries, and plums, underpinned by a swirl of baking spices and a hint of rose petals. On the palate, it’s rich and layered, with blackcurrants and cherry liqueur mingling with damson and a velvety crème brûlée. The Pomerol cask influence brings a vinous quality, balanced by a touch of orange zest that brightens the profile. The finish is medium to long, gently fading on mulled wine spices, dried cranberries, and a soft, earthy whisper of damp wood.
Distillery Information
Blair Athol sits just south of Pitlochry, nestled in Perthshire's picturesque Vale of Athol, often described as the "gateway to the Highlands." Known for its rich, nutty, and malty character, Blair Athol is equally admired for the leafy veil of ivy draping the distillery’s historic walls, changing dramatically in colour as the seasons unfold.
