Ronnie Cox
“The tell-tale Linseed oiliness in the initial aroma mixes with fruitiness in a resinous compote. Super attractive it does what it promised dancing happily on the palate and leaving a long lingering impression of a mature example of Caribbean supremacy wrapped in the gentle mantel of a shyly attractive Sauterne.”
Tasting Notes
Hailing from one of the world’s prominent and imaginative distilleries, Foursquare continues to pump perfection. Richard Seale and his team are innovative distillers, investing in the kit but respecting the past. This is a balanced and honeyed style that should appeal to many palates. A mix of the tropics and just about every nuance of fruit you could throw at a rum, augmented by its ageing in Sauternes casks. Delicious.
The Foursquare Distillery is renowned for executing perfectly balanced, top-class distillates, and this is no exception. The nose gives infusions of ripe yellow fruits, caramel, toffee and a pouch of moist tobacco, and the finish is lingering, balanced and complex.
