Rob Whitehead

“If this buttery-biscuit dram is serving as an introduction to the Single Grain style, then be assured that these sweet spice notes are hardwon over many years of patient maturation. Now approaching three and a half decades in oak, here can be found flapjack, fully ripe tannins and lashings of vanilla. An ideal choice for a dram with dessert.”

Tasting Notes

The nose gives toasted oak, apple and melon

skin, with a fresh menthol note. There is some

honeyed depth and cinnamon spice. The palate

is beautifully expansive with Bourbon cask notes,

buttery vanilla and crème caramel. The delivery is

most graceful and lingering.

Distillery

Invergordon Distillery is located on the shores of the Cromarty Firth in the Scottish Highlands. Founded in 1959, it is the only grain distillery in the Highlands. It temporarily housed the Ben Wyvis malt distillery, which closed in 1975.

Jonny says: “Though grain distilleries are not normally known for their picturesque setting, Invergordon sits on gentle banks of the Cromarty Firth, making it probably the most scenic setting for a grain distillery.”
