“Linkwood’s light and fruity distillate, aged in a hogshead and finished in that most festive of casks, the Pedro Ximenez, gives notes of zesty orange, apricot jam, marzipan, dark chocolate, and warming spices. It’s a dram that has Christmas Day dessert covered – if you can wait that long.”

Tasting Notes

Spice and apricot jelly aromas tease on the nose before vanilla and nutmeg develop with time. The palate is a pleasing balance of orange liqueurs, dark chocolate and marzipan all rolled in a layer of oak and cinnamon. More orange notes roll across the finish alongside apricots and clove. This is a hugely fulfilling dram so after a long Christmas day, have yourself a merry little Linkwood.

Distillery

Ronnie Cox says: “Peter Brown established it as a farm distillery and it above all the other distilleries around should have claim to being Elgin’s distillery. The deliciously thick spirit made it so popular that another distillery, Linkwood B, was built in 1971. A firm favourite of mine since my first distillery visit in my early 20’s.”
