Tasting Notes
Aromas of spiced vanilla yoghurt open the nose of this Glenlossie leading to warm orchard fruits and green boiled sweets. The palate is fresh with flavours of apples and pears with honey, caramel, and clove rock. A long finish brings waves of sweet fruit and lingering wood spice.
Glenlossie, founded in 1876 by John Duff, lies just to the south of Elgin. The distillery was partially rebuilt following a fire in 1929. Nearby, Mannochmore Distillery was built in 1971 to support with high demand.
Joe Whittaker says: “Alongside Mannochmore, its sister distillery next door, Glenlossie stands as one of the unsung workhorses of Elgin. It tirelessly produces zesty and rich whisky, destined for undisclosed blends and rarely seen as a single malt. In the past, the same team operated both distilleries, rushing back and forth to meet the demand for their delicious whiskies.”
