Rob Whitehead

“When tasting through a few casks of Teaninich, I am often impressed by the uniformly high calibre of the spirit. This gargantuan distillery can produce well in excess of ten million litres of spirit per year, and yet each drop seems to have the same softly rounded texture and gently sweet spice. A true, simple pleasure to drink and share.”

Tasting Notes

This is a beguiling and fruity malt with perfumed aromas emerging. Passion fruit, a touch of lime and polished oak invite further exploration. The palate delivers waves of vanilla, yellow fruit and honey with some toasty influence. A little liquorice kicks in to herald the graceful finish.

Distillery

Teaninich, located in the northeast Highlands, was founded in 1817. It produces malt whisky to meet high demand from blenders. Unlike other distilleries, Teaninich uses a mash filter rather than the conventional mash tun to extract the worts.
