Ronnie Cox

“Immediately inviting the attractive side of linseed oil mixed with apple tarts and raisin biscuit. This Trinidad rum is nutty with syrupy fruit notes and plenty of stewed apples. A learned complex, complete with elegant character, is revealed. It’s well balanced and rewarding and with some water it really shines.”

Tasting Notes

Enticing aromas of caramelised bananas, brown sugar, treacle scones and tobacco leaf drift out the glass - an incredibly gentle spirit even at full strength. The palate is light textured yet full of warm notes of warm treacle, cream soda, new leather and burnt sugar. This theme continues seamlessly onto the finish, with soft brown sugar notes lingering pleasingly. This is exceptionally relaxed - a light yet flavourful and complex rum.

Distillery

The Caribbean boasts a long history of rum distilling. Each country has its own unique style and, with maturity, the full, intense fruit, spice and often, molasses flavours shine through.

Doug says: “Trindad has some of the rum world’s most famous heavyweight distillates, and the best amongst them are known for producing a very chewy, muscular style of rum. This cask displays a lighter textured Trinidadian style, however it’s still full flavoured and deeply complex.”
